Our Little Dragons pre-karate and junior martial arts classes are aimed at teaching self defence, having fun, respect, responsible behaviour, and the ability to avoid negative peer pressure. Our senior martial arts classes are aimed at increasing confidence, flexibilty, co-ordination, people skills, self defence, strength, stamina and improved general fitness. Some members have also competed in varying forms including MMA (Mixed Martial Arts). OKA was established 1974 and has satellite schools in Didcot, Sandford On Thames, Blackbird Leys, Cumnor, Greater Leys, Headington Brookes University, Risinghurst, North Oxford, Hook Norton, and Witney. OKA is fully committed to teaching a high standard of traditional karate. Through diligent training and perseverance, the practitioner of Karate can develop a gentler, calmer nature, whilst developing a more focussed approach to daily living. The training develops a harmonious balance between the mind and body. Karate training offers many benefits as you too can soon discover. All of OKA's instructors are graded by a panel including Japanese 8th Dan masters. We do NOT use assistant low ranking instructors, ONLY Black Belts. All of our instructors are CRB checked. Some of our instructors also have black belts in other martial arts and have skills in Kung Fu, Taekwondo, Judo, Shotokan, Wado Ryu, Shito-Ryu etc. Please feel free to ask your instructor how long they have trained. Maybe you already practice karate, but have you ever asked your instructor what their level of experience is, how long they've trained, how long they've taught, or even how qualified they are? Are they certified by a genuinely recognised source?
